    Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you for your support throughout what has been yet another enjoyable school year at Battling Brook. Your part in supporting your child with home learning, being prepared for school each day and reinforcing our school aims is much appreciated and makes such a difference.

  • Pupil Premium Entitlement

    Do you claim any of the following?

     

    1. Income Support (IS)
    2. Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA)
    3. An income-related employment and support allowance
    4. Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    5. Child Tax Credit (provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income which from 6th April 2010 does not exceed £16,190 as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs
    6. Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
    7. Children who receive Income Support (IS) or Income Based Jobseekers Allowance in their own right are also entitled to receive free school meals
    8. Universal Credit

     

    If so, you may be entitled to Pupil Premium which is so much more than a free school meal

  • Learning begins at 8.45am

    For some time now, class teachers have been setting work for children to begin as soon as they come into school at the first, 8.45am bell.  The vast majority of our children arrive early enough to begin their lessons at this time.

    Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year from all of us at Battling Brook.

    As you know, our school was inspected by Ofsted during the final week of term before the Christmas break and I am pleased to report that the inspection team were very complimentary about the school.

    It has become clear that the recent legislation relating to absence from school for family holidays during term time has been misinterpreted by many schools.
