World Book Day 5th March 2026

As always, we will be taking part in World Book Day.  This year it takes place on Thursday 5th March 2026.

Following feedback received from parents and pupils from previous years, we have decided to shake things up a little this year.

We will, of course, have lots of exciting activities taking place in school as we continue to help the children develop a love of reading but we wanted to allow you and your child to make a decision as to how they participate:

  • Come dressed as a character from their favourite book but they must be able to bring in a copy of the book.  There is no expectation to buy a new costume in fact we love to see your home made creations!
  • Come in to school in their PJs ready to immerse themselves in our reading activities.
  • Wear school uniform.  We understand that dressing up isn’t for everyone so if fancy dress and PJs aren’t your thing, you can still get involved in your school uniform.  Please note it is not an option to simply wear non-uniform (unless it can be linked to your favourite character and a copy of the book provided!).

Your child will also be provided with a book token to redeem against one of the books linked with this year’s World Book Day.

Should you have any queries, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
