  • Possible Re-opening

    On the 14th May, we wrote to inform you that we were in the process of planning for potential reopening for certain year groups soon after half-term. Since that time, we have been assessing risks and preparing for a smooth phased reopening.

  • COVID 19 - School Closure Information

    Dear Parent/Carer

     We are pleased to say that we now have the guidance relating to maintaining educational provision at this time.  A link to the guidance is attached for your reference.

    The overriding message is that the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible;  this is to heavily reduce the number of children in schools in order to limit the spread of the virus and both support and maximise the capacity of our NHS.

    A recent police visit to the school highlighted problems that local residents were experiencing with repeated incidents of inconsiderate parking, particularly along Frederick Avenue.

    ParentPay has been in use at Battling Brook for a few years now and has proved to be easy to use and beneficial to the vast majority of our parents/carers.  Thank you to all who ensure that their child’s account always remains in credit by making regular top-ups on line to pay for both school lunches and visits/activities.

  • Pupil Premium Entitlement

    Do you claim any of the following?

     

    1. Income Support (IS)
    2. Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA)
    3. An income-related employment and support allowance
    4. Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    5. Child Tax Credit (provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income which from 6th April 2010 does not exceed £16,190 as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs
    6. Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
    7. Children who receive Income Support (IS) or Income Based Jobseekers Allowance in their own right are also entitled to receive free school meals
    8. Universal Credit

     

    If so, you may be entitled to Pupil Premium which is so much more than a free school meal

  • Learning begins at 8.45am

    For some time now, class teachers have been setting work for children to begin as soon as they come into school at the first, 8.45am bell.  The vast majority of our children arrive early enough to begin their lessons at this time.
