COVID 19 - School Closure Information
We are pleased to say that we now have the guidance relating to maintaining educational provision at this time. A link to the guidance is attached for your reference.
The overriding message is that the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible; this is to heavily reduce the number of children in schools in order to limit the spread of the virus and both support and maximise the capacity of our NHS.
At Battling Brook we have been asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children. These include:
· Children with a social worker
· Children with an EHC Plan or who are in receipt of Top-Up Funding
· Children with a disability
· Children who have a parent whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response (Key Workers).
Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home, and where possible we would encourage this. Full details of the key workers are on the attached document, however, they can be summarised as follows:
· Health and Social Care
· Education and childcare
· Key Public Services
· Local and national government
· Food and the other necessary goods
· Public safety and national security
· Utilities, communication and financial services.
If you meet any of the above criteria and are not able to keep your child at home, then please click on the link below and complete the form.
In order for us to prepare, please provide this information ASAP but ideally by the end of today.
*Please note that for the small number of children who will be attending school, Earlybirds/Nurture Group and Afterschool Club will continue to run as normal for at least the first week and school meals will still be provided (red and green option and dietary needs).
You will receive an email/letter today regarding our home learning plans.
Please be rest assured that we will keep all parents/carers updated regarding any significant changes or developments.
Thank you, everyone for your excellent support, encouragement and team spirit displayed at this time; this is hugely appreciated. We feel extremely proud to be part of such a supportive community and wish and your families well over the coming weeks.
Take care and best wishes,
Mr S Marsden & Mrs L Mathie
